Our Open Letter and Call to Conscience to the Soldiers of Ft. Huachuca, see below, is a message of hope and concern; an affirmation that Veteran's from all of the recent wars and all walks of life, support our troops and are working diligently to bring them home as quickly and as safely as possible. We strongly prefer to honor Veterans on Veterans Day rather then remember them on Memorial Day.
It is also an invitation to all citizens of the United States to stand united against the failed and deadly foreign policy of the Bush Administration and the Unites States Congress. This is the Open Letter that Sierra Vista - The Herald, the leading paper in Ft. Huachuca Community, refused to accept and publish without explanation. We can only question the state of our "free press" and express our deepest concern over our Constitutional right of free speech. We are deeply saddened by the Sierra Vista Herald's unwillingness to honor "Freedom of the Press" and unwillingness to honor Veterans on Veterans Day by their unwillingness to accept this important message.
