Our next VFP meeting is November 19, Monday, 7 PM at the VA Hospital, 4th Floor, Ann Wilson Lounge. Hope you can make it.

We expect to have 60 to 70 people at our awards dinner. We are pleased and excited with the turnout and the event as a whole. It is going to be  a fun time for the peace community. It is still not to late to sign up. Please give Dan a call at 482-0262.

Saturday, October 17, 2009, noon at the Capital is a rally against the war in Afghanistan. Unfortunately troop strength is increasing and more and more of our young men and women are being put at risk needlessly and some are dying. We will once again ask President Obama to end this illegal war and bring our troops home.

If you are looking for some good reading, Linda LeTendre has an excellent bog in the Daily Gazette, Waging Peace. Check it out. It as intelligent, amusing and informative about local peace  events as well as her experiences on the front lines resisting the corrupt and criminal actions of our government particularly concerning foreign policy.
